Deck overview

Led by Katilda, Dawnhart Prime, this Selesnya deck combines an aggressive Human tribal mana engine with a punishing suite of asymmetric hatebears and stax pieces. Katilda converts every cheap Human into a versatile mana dork, allowing the deck to rapidly deploy game-warping lock pieces like Drannith Magistrate, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Sanctum Prelate, and Collector Ouphe turns ahead of normal timing. Because the deck generates massive mana purely through creatures, it cleanly breaks parity on artifact shutdown and noncreature spell taxes. As opponents struggle to develop under heavy mana friction and casting restrictions, the deck transitions from lock-in to beatdown by pumping its entire board with Katilda's counter ability, Silk, Web Weaver, and life loss from Throne of the God-Pharaoh. A deep suite of protection spells and silence effects ensures the board survives opposing sweepers and removal, closing games through overwhelming combat damage across two combat cycles.
