Deck overview

This is a Dimir Rat-tribal aristocrats deck helmed by Vren, the Relentless, whose replacement effect exiles any creature an opponent controls that would die and converts each into a 1/1 Rat token at end of turn. The deck's entire game plan is to force opponents to sacrifice creatures through a dense edict suite - Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter, Sheoldred's Edict, Grave Pact, Butcher of Malakir - so Vren's exile trigger fires constantly and the Rat swarm snowballs. Rat lords and anthems (Patchwork Banner, Ogre Slumlord, Piper of the Swarm, Marrow-Gnawer, Karumonix, the Rat King, Levitation) turn the tokens lethal, while Mirkwood Bats, Valley Rotcaller, and Bellowing Mauler provide incremental drain. The deck wins through overwhelming combat swarm plus chip damage, backed by a strong draw package (Phyrexian Arena, Sygg, River Cutthroat, Skullclamp) and a heavy removal suite.
