Deck overview

This Satoru Umezawa deck operates as a high-impact Dimir cheat-and-reanimate strategy. Its primary game plan uses cheap, evasive one-drop creatures such as Changeling Outcast and Slither Blade to establish unblocked attacks. Once Satoru is on the battlefield, the deck pays four mana ({2}{U}{B}) during combat to ninjutsu overwhelming game-ending threats directly into play, bypassing normal casting costs and timing restrictions. Cheating in Blightsteel Colossus presents an immediate one-shot lethal clock against individual opponents, while Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Toxrill, the Corrosive establish oppressive asymmetric resource locks by wiping hands and clearing opposing boards. Robust backup reanimation spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead provide resilience against removal, while efficient countermagic including Fierce Guardianship and Swan Song shields the critical combat steps. The deck delivers steady card selection through Satoru's built-in Anticipate triggers, assembling explosive, must-answer board states as early as Turn 4.
