Commander: Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Runo Stromkirk leads a Dimir sea monster deck focused on transforming into Krothuss, Lord of the Deep to replicate gigantic Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents. The game plan cycles or loots high-cost leviathans into the graveyard, casts Runo to put a creature with mana value six or greater on top of the library, and transforms him during upkeep. Once Krothuss attacks alongside a massive sea monster, his trigger generates two tapped and attacking token copies. The deck overwhelms opponents by combining one-sided bounce effects like Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets with exponential combat damage from copied behemoths.
