Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir spellslinger and creature-swarm strategy built around Lord of the Nazgûl. The game plan accelerates mana on the opening turns using efficient two-mana artifacts, deploying the commander on Turn 4 or Turn 5. Once established, every instant and sorcery cast produces 3/3 black Wraith tokens with menace. By leveraging creature type modifiers like Arcane Adaptation and Maskwood Nexus, along with auxiliary token producers like Talrand, Sky Summoner and Poppet Stitcher, the deck quickly amasses the nine Wraiths needed to transform the entire army into 9/9 behemoths. Reactive interaction features efficient countermagic and convoke removal such as Lethal Scheme to protect the board state while advancing token counts. Victory is achieved through devastating menace combat steps, unblockable swings via Open into Wonder, asymmetric resets with Perplexing Test, or direct life drain through Gruesome Fate and Mirkwood Bats.
