Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Esper deck uses Y'shtola, Night's Blessed as its central draw and drain engine. You draw when any player loses 4 or more life in a turn, and you deal 2 to each opponent and gain 2 whenever you cast a noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater. The main plan is slow, incremental drain from Soul Warden, Daxos, Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bontu's Monument, and Sheoldred, which also enables Y'shtola's draw. Tokens from Adeline, Clarion Spirit, Talrand, and Battle Angels provide board presence and death triggers, while Elesh Norn, Ghostly Prison, and sweepers control combat. Hullbreaker Horror plus Sol Ring is the only listed loop and has no outlet, so you win by grinding drain and combat over many turns.
