Deck overview

This Mardu deck blends spite-damage redirection with token-based aristocrats control. Its primary strategy deploys resilient, damage-reflecting creatures such as Brash Taunter, Phyrexian Vindicator, Stuffy Doll, and Boros Reckoner, then leverages asymmetric damage sweepers like Blasphemous Act to simultaneously wipe opposing boards and burn opponents for massive life chunks. The commander's back half, Awaken the Blood Avatar, acts as an alternate win condition and sacrifice outlet, forcing each opponent to sacrifice creatures while generating 3/6 haste Avatars that deal direct group damage on attack. The front face, Extus, Oriq Overlord, provides steady graveyard recursion via magecraft. Supported by dense 2-CMC mana acceleration, premium tutors, and efficient protection spells like Deflecting Swat and Teferi's Protection, the deck controls creature-heavy boards and closes games through non-combat burn and combat attrition.
