Deck overview

This deck is a high-octane Boros Voltron strategy built around Lightning, Army of One. Lightning brings built-in first strike, trample, and lifelink alongside the potent Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to a player after she hits them in combat. The deck leverages efficient equipment tutors and free-equip enablers like Sigarda's Aid, Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist, and Puresteel Paladin to rapidly suit up Lightning with game-ending armaments such as Colossus Hammer, Two-Handed Axe, and legendary Swords. Because first strike damage applies Stagger before regular combat damage, granting Lightning double strike creates devastating burst swings that easily eliminate opponents in a single combat step. Backed by silence effects like Grand Abolisher and turn-tempo spells like Great Train Heist and Aurelia, the Warleader, the list races to pick off opponents one by one while keeping its own life total out of reach through lifelink.
