Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger deck centered on Alania, Divergent Storm and Otters. It accelerates in the opening turns using efficient two-mana mana rocks and cost-reducing creatures such as Stormcatch Mentor and Goblin Electromancer. Once Alania hits the board on Turn 4, the deck leverages her ability to copy the first instant, sorcery, or Otter spell cast each turn by gifting card draws to opponents. This doubled spell velocity rapidly triggers widespread burn engines like Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Coruscation Mage, while amassing flying token swarms via Talrand, Sky Summoner and Murmuring Mystic. Mana generators like Storm-Kiln Artist and Ashling, Flame Dancer sustain long multi-spell turns. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through accumulated burn and swarming combat buffed by Balmor, Battlemage Captain and Valley Floodcaller, with an incidental infinite damage combo in Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Curiosity.
