Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis Midrange strategy centered around Sauron, the Dark Lord. It accelerates on early turns with mana rocks and rituals to deploy Sauron by Turn 4. Sauron generates an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells, turning opposing tempo into board presence. Connecting with an Army triggers the Ring tempts, enabling Sauron to discard the hand and draw four fresh cards. This repeatable wheel mechanic fuels potent discard and draw payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and The Locust God. A dense suite of nine Nazgûl provides massive combat scaling, as each Ring tempt distributes +1/+1 counters to all Wraiths. Built-in Ward on Sauron and a robust suite of efficient counterspells protect the engine, while toxic sweepers and deathtouch blockers maintain control until a lethal combat finish on Turn 7.
