Deck overview

This Sultai deck leverages Zaxara, the Exemplary to transform heavy mana investments into massive board presence. Built around spells with {X} in their mana costs, the strategy combines ramp, scalable draw, and tall creature tokens. In the early turns, 2-CMC ramp spells accelerate Zaxara onto the battlefield by Turn 3. Once active, Zaxara provides both two mana of fixing and a free Hydra token for every X-spell cast. Mid-game sequencing focuses on chaining scalable draw spells like Hydroid Krasis and Pull from Tomorrow to refill the hand while assembling an army. The deck overcomes traditional combat stalling by granting trample with Garruk's Uprising, multiplying counters via Vorel of the Hull Clade, and clearing boards with Curse of the Swine. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and reliant on combat steps without haste, it generates overwhelming mid-game momentum.
