Deck overview

This Jeskai deck is led by Captain America, Team Leader, running an aggressive typal combat plan focused on Hero creatures and +1/+1 counters. The commander converts every entering Hero into an immediate threat by granting haste, vigilance, and +1/+1 counters to both the new creature and Captain America. This structure bypasses summoning sickness, enables immediate combat triggers, and maintains vigilant blockers against opposing counterattacks. Mid-game momentum is sustained through combat-triggered draw engines such as Reconnaissance Mission, SP//dr, Piloted by Peni, and Kindred Discovery. As the board develops, high-impact damage multipliers including Shared Animosity, Uncivil Unrest, and War Machine, Avenging Arsenal scale creature power to lethal levels. One-sided board wipes like Damning Verdict and Wave Goodbye exploit counter synergies to clear opposing blockers without affecting your modified army, while versatile countermagic and phasing protect the team.
