Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Mono-Blue artifact stax and midrange strategy helmed by Urza, Lord High Artificer. The primary game plan revolves around deploying low-cost artifacts on the opening turns, casting Urza to transform the entire board into mana-generating rocks, and establishing oppressive asymmetric resource denial. Through Urza's second ability, continuous stax pieces like Winter Orb and Static Orb can be tapped at the end of the preceding opponent's turn to deactivate them during Urza's untap step, fully untapping your lands while opponents remain locked under tight mana restrictions. Additional lockdown pieces like Back to Basics, Stasis, and Mana Breach further strangle opposing resources. Behind this asymmetric mana advantage, the deck avoids infinite combos in favor of closing the game through fair combat damage. Scaling threats like Urza's Construct token, Master of Etherium, Kappa Cannoneer, and swarms of flying Thopters generated by Sai, Master Thopterist chip away life totals while opponents struggle to cast spells.
