Shockwing, Seismic Herald by B4J1-Thunderobot

Format: Commander

Commander: Maha, Its Feathers Night

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Maha, Its Feathers Night, whose ability sets all creatures opponents control to base toughness 1. The primary game plan is to exploit this fragility with a dense suite of -1/-1 effects, wither creatures, and mass toughness reduction to wipe boards repeatedly while generating value through crime triggers and drain effects. The deck wins by grinding out incremental advantage, then finishing with Gray Merchant of Asphodel (devotion), Exsanguinate, Syr Konrad, the Grim, or Blood Artist triggers. A secondary reanimation package (Reanimate, The Creation of Avacyn) provides recovery, while Necropotence and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth offer explosive card advantage and mana. The commander is the linchpin that makes every -1/-1 effect lethal, but the deck can still function without her through raw -X/-X wipes and drain.
