Deck overview

This Jund midrange deck centers on Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, converting -1/-1 counter distribution into massive card advantage and steady life drain. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with ramp pieces like Ignoble Hierarch and Arcane Signet, casting the commander by Turn 3 or 4. Once established, cards like Sinister Gnarlbark, Channeler Initiate, and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons trigger continuous card draw whenever counters are placed on friendly creatures. Meanwhile, widespread counter placement on opposing creatures drains opponent life totals. The mid-game transitions into oppressive board control using Kulrath Knight, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Carnifex Demon, which completely shut down opposing attacks and sweep away blockers. Victory is achieved through persistent life drain, large evasive threats, wide token generation from Flourishing Defenses, or an infinite loop between Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons.
