Deck overview

This Esper list is a hybrid control and combo deck that leverages Sen Triplets as a high-end disruption and theft engine while relying on a compact Thassa's Oracle win line. Supported by a premier suite of tutors and countermagic, the deck aims to establish early card advantage through engines like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and The One Ring. Simultaneously, stax and tax pieces including Drannith Magistrate, Opposition Agent, and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV stall opposing development. When ready, the deck transitions into a rapid combo finish using Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation, shielded by Grand Abolisher or Teferi, Time Raveler. However, structural flaws in the mana base—specifically running 16 basic lands—prevent Tainted Pact from reliably substituting for Demonic Consultation. Furthermore, the complete absence of recursion leaves the primary win condition vulnerable to permanent collapse if countered.
