Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Esper reanimator and discard midrange strategy commanded by Hashaton, Scarab's Fist. Hashaton acts as a repeatable cost-cheating engine in the command zone: whenever you discard a creature card, paying {2}{U} creates a 4/4 black Zombie token copy of that creature. Supported by low-cost discard outlets like Psychic Frog and Putrid Imp, the deck regularly cheats format-warping threats into play on Turn 4, such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Archon of Cruelty. These threats lock opponents out of their hands and boards while generating overwhelming card advantage. The deck backs up this strategy with traditional reanimation spells, wheel disruption via Notion Thief, and potent life-drain finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Archfiend of Despair.
