Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

An aggressive Merfolk midrange deck built around Hakbal's explore trigger. The primary plan is to play cheap Merfolk, use Hakbal and explore to grow them into large attackers while drawing lands and spells, then finish with trample or unblockable pump. Secondary paths are value-heavy tempo with Tatyova, Tishana, and Zegana refilling the hand, plus a Wanderwine Prophets extra-turn line that can chain if enough Merfolk fodder exists. There is no true hidden commander; Wanderwine Prophets is a build-around finisher, and Hadana's Climb is simply a pump/land tool. The deck is a fair combat deck with no infinite combo, so it relies on accumulating board presence and turning sideways for 120 damage.
