Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable commands a Rakdos deck centered on weaponizing self-inflicted noncombat damage and converting it into massive Treasure generation. Because Smaug is an 8/7 flyer with indestructible and haste, board wipes like Blasphemous Act and Star of Extinction double as ritual spells that generate 13 to 20 Treasures without destroying your commander. The deck leverages high functional redundancy in damage-reflection pieces like Brash Taunter, Wrathful Red Dragon, and Barbed Servitor, alongside aristocrat and artifact-entry burn engines like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Reckless Fireweaver. Once Smaug absorbs heavy noncombat damage, the resulting explosion of artifact tokens fuels decisive finishers such as Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, or infinite damage loops with Blazing Sunsteel. Backed by redirection spells and split-second sequencing via Shadow the Hedgehog, the deck effectively translates high-power board wipes directly into game-ending burn.
