Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain midrange strategy commanded by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. It leverages Oloro's eminence ability to gain 2 life every upkeep directly from the command zone. The deck converts this steady life gain into card advantage through engines like Well of Lost Dreams and Dawn of Hope, while draining opponents with cards like Marauding Blight-Priest, Epicure of Blood, and Defiant Bloodlord. A sturdy suite of board sweepers, targeted removal, and flying blockers keeps the deck healthy against aggressive strategies. In the late game, the deck closes out matches by generating large flying token swarms with Elenda and Azor and Gwaihir, Greatest of the Eagles, or by casting massive group-drain spells like Debt to the Deathless and Exsanguinate. It plays an attrition-heavy, controlling game that steadily pulls ahead in life total and card advantage.
