Deck overview

This is an Abzan life-gain/life-loss midrange deck built around Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The commander's end-step trigger converts life gained into +1/+1 counters and life lost into reanimation, so the deck is a carefully balanced engine of lifelinkers, life-payment draw, and drain payoffs. The primary win path is combat: pump a lifelinker like Vampire Nighthawk or Nighthawk Scavenger into a massive threat with Betor's counters, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and Nykthos Paragon, then close with a big Exsanguinate or a Tivash, Gloom Summoner demon. The deck also runs a solid draw suite (Darkstar Augur, Greed, Lunar Convocation) and a handful of reanimation spells. It is a midrange value game: no infinite combos, no counterspells, but incremental life converted into board presence and a large drain finish.
