Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis midrange reanimator deck commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It accelerates early mana with low-cost rocks and rituals to deploy Sauron on Turn 4. Opposing spells trigger Sauron to amass an Orc Army, which then connects in combat to trigger the Ring tempting mechanic. When the Ring tempts, Sauron lets you discard your hand and draw four fresh cards, transforming hand replenishment into a devastating engine. Discarding feeds Archfiend of Ifnir to clear opposing boards with -1/-1 counters and stocks the graveyard for mass reanimation via Living Death and Haunting Voyage. The deck runs 9 copies of Nazgûl, which grow each time the Ring tempts, creating an army of lethal deathtouch attackers. Free interactive spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat protect the commander effortlessly.
