Stinging Shadows by Dendrex

Format: Commander

Commander: Gonti, Night Minister

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black "Thievery" and Evasion strategy led by Gonti, Night Minister. The primary game plan is to deploy a high density of low-mana, evasive creatures-specifically those with Shadow, Skulk, and Horsemanship-to consistently trigger Gonti s combat damage ability. By exiling and casting opponents' spells, the deck generates Treasure tokens and card advantage, effectively using the table's resources as its own win conditions. While it lacks traditional infinite combos, it excels at incremental drain and life-total pressure through cards like Unstoppable Slasher and Gollum, Obsessed Stalker. The deck functions as a "tempo-theft" build, using efficient black removal to clear the path for its unblockable attackers. The commander is the central engine, providing both the payoff for the evasion theme and the mana acceleration (via Treasures) needed to cast high-impact spells stolen from opponents.
