Deck overview

This Sarulf, Realm Eater deck is a competitive Golgari midrange combo strategy designed to control fast board states and assemble game-ending combos. The primary win condition is the two-card combo of Witherbloom Apprentice and Chain of Smog, which drains the entire table in a single turn through infinite Magecraft triggers. A secondary win line leverages Necrotic Ooze or Hoarding Broodlord via graveyard reanimation. Supported by an elite fast mana package and universal black and green tutors, the deck consistently threatens wins on Turn 3. When facing fast aggressive or token-heavy tables, Sarulf, Realm Eater and Culling Ritual serve as potent asymmetric resets that wipe away mana rocks, tokens, and low-cost permanents while preserving high-end engines. Strong recursion ensures rapid recovery from disruption.
