Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger and Combo strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Visionary. Its primary plan converts noncombat damage into massive card draw. In the opening turns, the deck develops mana using artifacts like Fellwar Stone and cost reducers like Stormcatch Mentor, while establishing static pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Guttersnipe, and Fiery Inscription. Once Niv-Mizzet, Visionary enters on Turn 6, every point of noncombat damage dealt to opponents draws a card, turning spells like Flame Rift or Fiery Confluence into explosive hand refills. On Turn 7, the deck closes out the game by chaining burn spells fueled by Storm-Kiln Artist Treasures or triggering an infinite damage loop with Niv-Mizzet, Parun. While possessing formidable burst potential, the deck relies heavily on its 6-mana commander and vulnerable creature-based pingers.
