Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Hazel of the Rootbloom to lead an aggressive token and tribal engine centered on Squirrels, Foods, and Treasures. Early turns focus on accelerating mana and establishing nonland token generators such as Vinereap Mentor, Gilded Goose, and Tireless Provisioner. Once Hazel hits the battlefield, her end-step trigger doubles Squirrel tokens or duplicates high-value utility tokens, while her tap ability turns the wider board into a massive mana battery. The deck transitions into the midgame by scaling token counts with Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Deep Forest Hermit, and Doubling Season. Victory is achieved either by overrunning opponents through massive combat buffs like Beastmaster Ascension and Preposterous Proportions, or by draining the table through aristocrat engines such as Mirkwood Bats, Valley Rotcaller, and Bastion of Remembrance. The deck maintains steady card flow through token-fueled engines and offers solid resilience across extended multiplayer games.
