Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari goad and token attrition strategy commanded by Rendmaw, Creaking Nest. The core game plan exploits Rendmaw's ability to create goaded 2/2 flying Birds for every player whenever a card with two or more card types is played. The list is densely packed with artifact creatures, enchantment creatures, kindred spells, and artifact lands to trigger Rendmaw repeatedly. By giving every opponent evasive, goaded threats, the deck forces opponents to eliminate one another while keeping the pilot safe from aerial aggression. Meanwhile, asymmetric payoffs capitalize on the high volume of tokens: Blood Seeker and Gideon the Oathless punish opponents as birds enter, Mirkwood Bats and Blood Artist drain the table as tokens trade in combat, and sweepers like Massacre Wurm or Wing Storm deliver sudden, decisive finishes. Supported by efficient Golgari interaction and resilient ramp, the deck thrives on forced combat chaos.
