Deck overview

This deck is an Esper tempo and reanimator strategy piloted by Raffine, Scheming Seer. The game plan leverages cheap, evasive low-drops to trigger connive early, rapidly filtering cards through the hand and intentionally placing devastating high-mana threats into the graveyard. Low-cost recursion spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize allow the deck to cheat game-ending permanents like Archon of Cruelty, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, and Toxrill, the Corrosive onto the battlefield as early as Turn 4. Simultaneously, Raffine's connive mechanic places +1/+1 counters onto attacking creatures, converting early utility threats into large aerial beaters. Backed by solid Esper interaction, countermagic, and asymmetric stax elements, the deck controls the pace of play while grinding out the table through combat damage and crippling attrition.
