Deck overview

Katara, Waterbending Master leads a classic Mono-Blue Draw-Go control deck designed to operate almost entirely on opponents' turns. The deck leverages Katara's low casting cost ({1}{U}) to establish an early presence on Turn 2. Casting instants during opposing turn cycles grants experience counters, which Katara converts into massive card draw and looting whenever she attacks. With an extensive suite of over thirty low-cost counterspells, bounce spells, and cantrips, the deck comfortably dictates the tempo of the table while building insurmountable card advantage. As experience counters accumulate, backup draw engines like Wavebreak Hippocamp, Valeria Richards, Precocious, and Archmage of Runes compound resource generation. The deck transitions into the late game through decisive attrition engines, utilizing a recurring Forbid buyback lock, Hullbreaker Horror bounce loops to clear opposing boards, or an alternate win with Twenty-Toed Toad once hand size exceeds twenty cards. Rich protection and resilient player-bound counters ensure steady execution.
