Deck overview

This Orzhov deck wins by controlling its life total with precision. The primary plan uses Selenia, Dark Angel and pay-life outlets like Wall of Blood and Toxic Deluge to drop to exactly 1 life and win on the next upkeep with Near-Death Experience, protected by Phyrexian Unlife and Solemnity which let you survive at 0 life without poison counters. Secondary paths use the same life engine to fuel Vizkopa Guildmage and Sanguine Bond drain loops with Children of Korlis and Tainted Sigil, or to set all totals low with Repay in Kind and Soul Conduit then drain, with Platinum Angel as a lock and Debt to the Deathless as a mana sink. Selenia acts as a reusable life dial and dodge via her bounce, while Vilis, Broker of Blood and Vizkopa Guildmage serve as hidden commanders that draw cards and close games without her.
