Deck overview

This is an Esper midrange-control deck built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, leveraging noncreature spells to drain the table, gain life, and convert life-loss into card advantage. The commander pings each opponent for 2 and gains 2 life whenever you cast a noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater, then draws at end steps if anyone lost 4+ life. The 99 supports this with a dense suite of instant/sorcery value, second-spell payoffs (Alphinaud Leveilleur, Storm of Saruman, Rammas Echor, Ancient Shield, Saruman of Many Colors), and incremental drain pieces (Papalymo Totolymo, Circle of Power, Wizard tokens from Transpose). Primary wins come from stacking drain into a large Exsanguinate, combat pressure from lifelink/anthem bodies (Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Enduring Angel // Angelic Enforcer, G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn tokens), and occasional blowout turns off Omniscience or Aminatou's Augury. The deck plays a patient control game: tax attacks, answer threats, and bleed the pod out.
