Deck overview

This Orzhov Equipment Voltron deck is helmed by Squall, SeeD Mercenary, a Commander that rewards attacking alone with double strike and uses combat damage to recur permanents with mana value 3 or less. The primary strategy is to suit up Squall (or a backup creature) with a dense equipment package that grants unblockable, protection, and overwhelming power, then close the game through commander damage. The deck also packs a secondary "hidden commander" in Cloud, Midgar Mercenary - an on-curve Equipment tutor that doubles triggered abilities - and a suite of X-spells like Debt to the Deathless and Torment of Hailfire for alternative finishes when the combat plan stalls. The recursion from Squall, combined with cards like Reanimate and Phoenix Down, ensures the deck can rebuild after disruption, while Conqueror's Flail and Clever Concealment protect the critical turns.
