Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, passive life-loss permanents like Underworld Dreams, Fate Unraveler, and Persistent Constrictor to consistently trigger Valgavoth during each opponent's turn. Each trigger grows Valgavoth with +1/+1 counters and draws a fresh card, generating massive card advantage and rapid commander size without further mana investment. As opponents take cumulative burn damage from drawing cards, casting spells, and playing lands, Valgavoth applies heavy flying combat pressure to eliminate players one by one. Supporting demons like Archon of Cruelty, Massacre Wurm, and Kaervek the Merciless provide late-game muscle and board control. The deck excels at grinding down life totals and refilling its hand, though its low land count and reliance on creature permanents leave it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes.
