Deck overview

Helmed by The Master of Lake-town, this is a mono-black life-loss and mill deck that turns every point of drain into cards milled off the top of opponents' libraries. The commander's trigger is the engine: Blood Artist, Ayara, First of Locthwain, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel all drain, and each drain doubles as table-wide milling. The deck backs this with a deep graveyard-recursion package centered on Chainer, Dementia Master, The Soul Stone, and Afterlife from the Loam, which can replay both its own threats and stolen opposition creatures. The primary kill is the Mindcrank loop with Syr Konrad, the Grim or Dreadhound; the secondary plan is to generate huge mana with Crypt Ghast, Caged Sun, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth into a lethal Exsanguinate or replayed Gray Merchant. This is a midrange value/mill deck that wins by grinding rather than by blazing speed.
