Commander: Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir deck is helmed by Runo Stromkirk and his transformed side Krothuss, Lord of the Deep, built around a sea-monster tribal theme (Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, Serpent). The primary game plan is to deploy huge beaters, flip Runo via its upkeep reveal trigger, then overwhelm opponents with multiple copy-attack tokens from Krothuss. Secondary wins include mill from Nemesis of Reason or incremental drain from Blood Artist and Falkenrath Noble. Reanimation spells like Living Death and Victimize provide board recovery, while board wipes that spare sea monsters (Whelming Wave, Kederekt Leviathan) keep the path clear. The deck is a mid-range combat value engine with no infinite combos, relying on raw power and token multiplication to close out games.
