Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy led by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The game plan revolves around generating continuous value through death triggers, converting dying nontoken Zombies into decayed Zombie tokens, and drawing extra cards on the end step. The deck accelerates in the early turns using mana rocks, early Zombie drops, and card advantage engines such as Rhystic Study and Skullclamp. It transitions into mid-game dominance by assembling repeatable sacrifice engines with Phyrexian Altar, Ashnod's Altar, or Warren Soultrader. The primary win condition is a deterministic infinite drain combo combining Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar, Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver, and a blood artist effect like Diregraf Captain or The Meathook Massacre. Backed by potent interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Cyclonic Rift, as well as massive recovery spells like Living Death, the deck pivots seamlessly between combo finishes, wide combat beatdown, and resilient attrition.
