Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marneus Calgar is the engine of a token-and-sacrifice Esper deck. The primary plan is to resolve a token multiplier alongside Marneus, turning token generation into card draw, then assemble the same-turn loop of Ashnod's Altar + Pitiless Plunderer + a doubler. That loop generates far more mana than it spends while drawing extra cards, and Kambal, Profiteering Mayor turns each token-enters event into life loss. The secondary path is a slower but functional token-aggro plan with Ocelot, Bitterblossom, and the Egnath creature lines. There is no hidden commander; Marneus is single-faced, and the deck is built entirely around using his activated ability.
