Deck overview

This Sultai deck is a dedicated Voltron build centered on Indominus Rex, Alpha. The game plan revolves around casting the commander on Turn 5, discarding multi-keyword creatures from hand to give it keyword counters such as flying, trample, hexproof, indestructible, and haste, while simultaneously refilling the hand. With a massive mana base of 53 lands and supplementary mana rocks, the deck guarantees hitting its land drops to deploy its commander and high-cost beaters reliably. However, the list completely omits instant-speed interaction, spot removal, board wipes, and protection spells. While Indominus Rex, Alpha is exceptionally resilient to standard destruction and targeted removal once resolved, its path to victory relies entirely on fair, sequential combat steps over multiple turn cycles. This gives opponents ample time to assemble faster combo finishes or resolve mass exile sweepers unhindered.
