Deck overview

This Boros deck is an Equipment-focused Voltron strategy commanded by Cloud, Planet's Champion. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap Equipment and cost-reducing creatures during the early turns, then casting Cloud on Turn 5. As long as Cloud is equipped, his passive ability grants him double strike, indestructible on your turn, and a {2} discount on equip costs. This allows him to swing for massive chunks of commander damage starting on Turn 6, threatening 14 to 20 damage in a single hit. The deck supports this aggressive Voltron clock with high-synergy creatures like Puresteel Paladin, Bruenor Battlehammer, and Firion, Wild Rose Warrior, alongside protection pieces like Swiftfoot Boots and Champion's Helm. While the deck delivers lethal single-target damage with strong resilience against combat damage and destroy effects, it must navigate the inherent vulnerability of single-target combat clocks, mass artifact wipes, and exile removal.
