Deck overview

This Athreos, God of Passage deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats and Lifegain Midrange strategy built to grind down opponents through compounding life drain and attrition. Early turns focus on deploying low-cost soul sisters and mana rocks to establish a stable life buffer. Casting Athreos creates a persistent tax engine that forces opponents to pay 3 life or return dying creatures to your hand. During the midgame, the deck stacks drain payoffs like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Sanguine Bond alongside token generators such as God-Eternal Oketra. Board-tapping pieces like Blind Obedience disrupt opposing combat and artifact tempo. The deck converts its high life total and wide board into a table win through Akroma's Will, massive drain triggers, or mass reanimation with Rise of the Dark Realms across two combat cycles.
