Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal midrange strategy commanded by Varina, Lich Queen. It develops early Zombie threats and mana artifacts on Turns 1–3, curving directly into Varina on Turn 4. Attacking with Zombies activates Varina's triggered ability, filtering card quality, stocking the graveyard, and buffering life totals. The deck leverages heavy tribal redundancy, utilizing lords like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Temmet, Naktamun's Will alongside token generators like God-Eternal Oketra and Diregraf Colossus to establish critical board presence by Turn 6. Incidental life drain from Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and Diregraf Captain softens the table, while mass evasion from Eternal Skylord or Zombie Master secures combat finishes by Turn 8. Graveyard mass recursion through Zombie Apocalypse and Rot Hulk provides resilient recovery against board disruption.
