Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Celes, Rune Knight to spearhead an aggressive graveyard reanimation engine. The primary game plan focuses on filling the graveyard quickly using low-cost discard outlets, self-mill, and targeted tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive, as well as Celes's own rummaging enter-the-battlefield trigger. Once premium threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Sun Titan, or Avacyn, Angel of Horror enter the graveyard, cheap reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize cheat them directly onto the battlefield. Each reanimation event triggers Celes, placing +1/+1 counters across your entire creature suite to rapidly grow your army. Haste enablers like Anger and Chainer, Nightmare Adept accelerate combat pressure, while Flayer of the Hatebound and Syr Konrad, the Grim convert creature movement into direct damage. The deck finishes games through decisive combat swings backed by Akroma's Will or resolving a table-flipping Living Death.
