Deck overview

Helmed by Gargos, Vicious Watcher, this mono-green stompy deck accelerates into massive Hydra threats and overwhelms opponents through combat damage. The game plan opens with early mana dorks and land ramp to cast Gargos ahead of curve on Turn 4. Once on the battlefield, Gargos reduces the cost of all Hydra spells by {4} colorless mana, enabling explosive turns where massive creatures enter for minimal mana. The deck amplifies these threats using counter multipliers like Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, and Unbound Flourishing, while granting essential evasion through trample enablers such as Garruk's Uprising. Gargos also provides built-in board control by fighting opposing creatures whenever your creatures are targeted by spells. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and lacking stack interaction, the deck maintains steady card flow through power-based draw engines like The Great Henge and Rishkar's Expertise, reliably closing games through overwhelming combat pressure by Turn 7.
