Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Vampire tribal build commanded by Edgar Markov. It leverages the Eminence ability from the Command Zone to create 1/1 Vampire tokens for free whenever you cast a Vampire spell. The deck quickly builds a wide board on Turns 1 through 3 using efficient low-cost creatures like Knight of the Ebon Legion and Cordial Vampire. It then scales combat damage rapidly with tribal lords, Shared Animosity, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Aristocrat drain pieces such as Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant turn creature deaths into direct life loss, giving the deck reach against blockers. While the Eminence engine is immune to conventional removal and recovers swiftly from sweepers, the deck is vulnerable to mass exile effects and early tempo loss caused by tapped dual lands.
