Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Control-Combo deck that controls the table through reactive counterspells and efficient removal before closing the game with an infinite combo. The primary game plan revolves around casting Niv-Mizzet, Parun from the command zone and attaching a damage-trigger draw aura such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Once assembled, any card draw or instant/sorcery spell triggers a chain reaction: Niv-Mizzet deals 1 damage to an opponent, the aura draws a card, and Niv-Mizzet triggers again to draw the entire library and eliminate all three opponents. The list supports this plan with high-density stack interaction, redirection spells, and transmute tutors like Dizzy Spell and Drift of Phantasms. While the deck features powerful protection and high card flow once the commander resolves, its high colored mana requirements ({U}{U}{U}{R}{R}{R}) and lean land count require careful early-game sequencing.
