Greatest Earthbender in the World by user5427417

Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, Greatest Earthbender

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Toph, Greatest Earthbender leads a Gruul lands-matter deck that turns lands into hasty double-striking attackers. The primary plan is to ramp into Toph, use earthbend on lands, and multiply +1/+1 counters with Branching Evolution and The Earth Crystal, then finish through Bumi, Unleashed and Moraug, Fury of Akoum extra combat phases. Secondary paths are landfall token swarms from Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage, and Rampaging Baloths, backed by Goblin Bombardment, plus a small landfall engine built around Springheart Nantuko, Lotus Cobra, and Tireless Provisioner. The Legend of Kyoshi // Avatar Kyoshi acts as a hidden commander: its Avatar back face grants lands trample and hexproof, creates huge land attackers, and turns lands into mana. Toph's main role is a permanent double-strike anthem and one-time earthbend on entry.
