Bring my beloved dagger to me! by TulipaLilac

Format: Commander

Commander: Zidane, Tantalus Thief

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Boros theft-and-value deck helmed by Zidane, Tantalus Thief, built to steal opponents' creatures temporarily, leverage control-change triggers for Treasure and cards, and then cash in the stolen bodies for lethal damage. The primary game plan revolves around Zidane's ETB theft and his passive "whenever an opponent gains control of a permanent from you, create a Treasure" ability, which the deck actively triggers through symmetrical exchange cards like Yes Man, Personal Securitron, Humble Defector, and Assault Suit. A robust flicker package (Cloudshift, Eerie Interlude, Restoration Angel) re-uses theft and exchange abilities while protecting the board. The deck's main win conditions are Insurrection for a one-turn alpha strike, Fling / Thud / Goblin Bombardment to sacrifice a large stolen creature for damage, and Duke Ulder Ravengard + myriad tokens to pressure all opponents at once. Without counterspells or reliable tutors, the deck relies on dense instant-speed interaction and flexible theft to grind out advantages before closing the game.
