Deck overview

This deck is a resilient Grixis Aristocrats strategy led by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The game plan revolves around exploiting Marchesa's dethrone ability and her delayed trigger, which returns any creature that dies with a +1/+1 counter to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. By combining free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Carrion Feeder with impactful enter-the-battlefield and death triggers, the deck generates compounding value and life drain across every single player's turn. Cards like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Flayer of the Hatebound, and Dusk Mangler rapidly deplete opposing life totals, hands, and boards. Instant-speed sacrifice outlets double as protection, letting creatures die and return rather than succumb to opposing removal. The deck balances early mana acceleration with midgame disruption and explosive late-game recursion engines.
