Format: Commander

Commander: Aerith, Last Ancient

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Aerith, Last Ancient leads a Selesnya lifegain and +1/+1-counter midrange deck. The plan is to drip life from soul sisters and ETB payoffs, convert that life into counters and recursive bodies, and close with an oversized combat step or a late Aetherflux Reservoir shot. Aerith is a four-mana 3/5 lifelinker that, at the end of any turn you gained life, returns a creature from the graveyard to hand - or directly to the battlefield if you gained seven or more. She is the most efficient rebuild piece in the list and a reliable way to recast bombs after Greater Good, but the 99 already contains independent payoffs (Archangel of Thune, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, Crested Sunmare, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, Nykthos Paragon) and a second end-step reanimator in Celestine, the Living Saint. There are no infinite combo lines. This is a fair, incremental battlefield deck that wins by accumulating more life, more counters, and more bodies than the rest of the table can handle.
