Commander: The Astonishing Ant-Man

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Simic deck is a +1/+1 counter and token synergy engine helmed by The Astonishing Ant-Man. The primary game plan is to deploy cheap draw engines (Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Consecrated Sphinx) to trigger Ant-Man's counter-on-draw ability, then tap him to convert those counters into a swarm of 1/1 Insect tokens. Token doublers (Doubling Season, Adrix and Nev, Twincasters) and counter doublers (Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, The Earth Crystal) multiply the board exponentially. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents with a massive token army, typically via Craterhoof Behemoth (tutored with Natural Order) or Beastmaster Ascension. Secondary paths include Spry and Mighty for a sudden burst of power and card draw, or commander damage after Ant-Man grows large. The deck is a classic Simic value-engine that aims to out-draw and out-grow the table.
